[![San Diego Supercomputer Center](https://info.opto22.com/hs-fs/hubfs/gordon.jpg?t=1467736113312&width=320&name=gordon.jpg "San Diego Supercomputer Center")](http://documents.opto22.com/casestudies/2183_Case_Study_San_Diego_Supercomputer_Center.pdf)Sorting through massive amounts of data requires massive amounts of computing power. So keeping the SDSC datacenter cool is a constant challenge. **See how SDSC met the challenge in this case study**. Learn: - Why the datacenter chose a custom design, rather than adapting an off-the-shelf system - What modifications they made to the typical rack design  - How 400 Modbus/TCP power distribution units (PDUs) were integrated into the system    **The result? **Reduced energy usage, increased levels of control, and lower costs. ## [![San Diego Supercomputer Case Study](https://info.opto22.com/hs-fs/hubfs/SDSC_casestudy_ss.png?width=250&name=SDSC_casestudy_ss.png "San Diego Supercomputer Case Study")](http://documents.opto22.com/casestudies/2183_Case_Study_San_Diego_Supercomputer_Center.pdf) [![Get the case study](https://hubspot-no-cache-na2-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/cta/default/439485/683eab7b-8c0e-4c4f-a2cf-2ae458fbb092.png)](https://hubspot-cta-redirect-na2-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/cta/redirect/439485/683eab7b-8c0e-4c4f-a2cf-2ae458fbb092) -
