What's new in groov EPIC?
The latest release expands options for visualization and storage to suit a wide variety of applications and hardware.
Get ready to create dynamic web and mobile HMIs, dashboards, and Andon boards with browser-based groov View. Part of the groov EPIC system, this tool lets you build and view operator interfaces to monitor and manage your system from any device.
Here's an overview of what you can expect in the latest version of groov EPIC:
- Create custom SVG images and animations in groov View using new Shape gadgets that dynamically change color and size based on connected data sources
- Tag-driven conditional formatting for gadget visibility and text formatting
- Broader support for external HDMI monitors and touchscreens, including more resistive touch models, with built-in calibration and configuration capability
- Support for USB mass storage devices in groov Manage, Node-RED, PAC Control, and CODESYS
- New I/O module support
What do these new groov EPIC features mean for you?
Tons of new design possibilities! Enhance operator interfaces for situational awareness using custom graphics tied to process variables, database connections, network state, alarms, and events. Or design dynamic overhead displays using color-coded numerical and text readouts reflecting line status or quality metrics.
Reduce your dependence on high-maintenance PCs. OEMs win with lower up-front costs and TCO by using industrial monitors/touchscreens, rather than high-maintenance PCs, for visualization and operation.
Powerful edge computing. With USB mass storage support, groov EPIC simplifies local data logging and file management, and allows edge server implementations to grow beyond its 6GB of SSD user space.
More integration. For CAN bus users, this version of firmware also introduces the option to integrate those networks with groov EPIC using the GRV-CCANI-2 module, supported by the Opto 22 CODESYS library v1.0.2.0. High-density, 12-channel TC sensing is also available with the new GRV-ITM-12.
